Media Meditation: Blue Mountain State

Theme song to Blue Mountain State. (I would've liked to use the actual clip, but it seems that all embed codes for it have been disabled)

Just a couple of very sexy BMS girls posing

Last year Spike TV came out with a hip new show called Blue Mountain State. It is a comical show that is a spin-off of National Lampoon's Animal House and Van Wilder, and uses this as a template to show the wild and crazy lifestyles of college students. It features the outrageous life of a football-centric university, that covers college life topics that revolve around football, scoring chicks, binge drinking, wild partying, and hazing. Season 2 premiered October 20th, and it is predicted to be a bang. The new season still stars main characters Alex Moran (Darin Brooks), quirky team captain Thad Castle (Alan Ritchson), and newest member Radon Randell (Page Kennedy) who plays their new freshmen starting quarterback.

A montage of the whimsical events that is Blue Mountain State.

Last year My roommates and I would watch this show religiously every Tuesday. It was a tradition that kept us entertained, and gave us a sense of structure in our hectic college lifestyle. I love this show because of the relate-ability it provides to us students in school, and it shows the crazy college stereotype that our inner party animals want to experience. This show allows it's audience to vicariously live the BMS lifestyle and does so in a nonstop pee-in-your-pants comedy. Join the BMS team every Wednesday at 11pm on SPIKE TV. Catch up on all the latests episodes you may have missed at spike's website.

  1. Is this how really "pee in the pants" excellent, John?

Excellent blog post - you seem to enjoy the obviously stereotyped characters enough to not let the stereotypes bother you.

Can you shrink your video embeds to fit your blog screen?

    Go for it, and audeamus,

  2. Very good ME(DIA) MEMOIR, John.

You cover much ground - your blog is a bit chaotic - try and tighten your aesthetic here.

And with 20 followers and faithful completion of all our assignments, you have earned an EXCELLENT assessment for your personal blog for this semester.

I hope you will keep blogging after the course ends, friend.

Enjoy your holiday - shred it!
